Test climb

It will still be some time until it's open for public use, but the new, 28-foot-high climbing tower at the Kress Event Center's fitness area is now in place. Watch for word soon on the tower's future grand opening along with details of certification, training and related operational issues.

Making test climbs recently were visiting installers from the Eldorado Wall Company of Boulder, Colo. (that's Jason, in black, and Joe, in orange), along with a UW-Green Bay climber, Prof. David Voelker, Humanistic Studies (in light blue). Voelker helped campus planners prepare the bid for the 360-degree "Chameleon" tower and he is assisting in setting holds for its routes.
