Kress Events Center celebration | page 3
On Nov. 2, it will be the first volleyball match. On Oct. 18, it was an elegant dinner celebrating the successful completion of the Kress Events Center campaign.
Capital Campaign Co-chairs Tom Olson and Ginny Riopelle offered thanks to the community donors who supported the $11 million private fundraising drive... while enjoying their turn at the lectern.
Chancellor Bruce Shepard, too, offered thanks, and noted that the University will continue to climb higher with the community's help on the Phase II academic side of the Campaign for UW-Green Bay.
WLUK Fox 11 news anchor Tom Milbourn was emcee for the after-dinner program.
Kress Family representative John Kress, president of his family's philanthropic foundation, shared brief comments. He praised the leadership of UW-Green Bay Chancellor Bruce Shepard, and also paid tribute to the student body's financial commitment to the new facility.
Former student government president Michael Seleskie was one of several former and current SGA leaders who participated in the evening's events.
Returning for the occasion was former chancellor Mark Perkins, decked out in Phoenix green, who attended with his daughter Patricia, center. Perkins was chancellor in 2000 when the Student Senate endorsed funding and preliminary planning for the events center.
That's assistant coach Jon Harris (in green) welcoming visitors to the Intercollegiate Athletics office area. He is joined by Mike Meeuwsen (left — he's everywhere!) and Steve and Gretchen Christensen.
