Philanthropy rewarded
The Butte des Morts Country Club in Appleton Tuesday, November 13, was the setting for the Northeast Wisconsin Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals annual recognition luncheon. It was a special day for volunteers and philanthropists closely connected to the UW-Green Bay campus. Among the award winners were UW-Green Bay's Capital Campaign co-chairs Ginny Riopelle and Tom Olson and longtime UW-Green Bay supporters Ron and Colleen Weyers. Other individuals honored were physicians Mary Meyer and Gordon Haugan for their work with St. Mary's Hospital and other charities and Ray Schmidt, representing the Schmidt family and U.S. Oil Company, Inc., a generous corporate donor.
