Emergency training exercise tests
campus preparedness
Law-enforcement officers from three area agencies conducted an emergency training exercise Monday (Aug. 13) on the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay campus. UW-Green Bay, city of Green Bay and Brown County police participated in the drill to assess the level of emergency readiness in the event of an active shooter, hostage situation or other potential emergency on campus. UW-Green Bay and universities across the state and nation have taken a renewed look at campus security in the aftermath of the April 16 shootings at Virginia Tech.
SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics) team members from the Green Bay Police Department and Brown County Sheriff's Department assembled near the Laboratory Sciences parking lot to begin the emergency training exercise.
