Tickets for Friday's rally
A line of nearly 100 eager ticket-seekers followed the signs (inset) and awaited the start of ticket distribution on Thursday morning for the Barack Obama campaign rally set for Friday (Feb. 15) at the Kress Events Center.
Students from the UW-Green Bay College Democrats helped pitch in to make quick work of distributing more than a thousand printed tickets.
With stations for as many as a half dozen people to obtain tickets at a time, the process moved relatively quickly.
Student staffers from the University Union were also on hand to help.
Those planning to attend the 5 p.m. Friday rally were reminded to arrive early. With security checkpoints, general-admission seating and the nature of free-ticket events and the difficulty of guestimating the actual turnout... 3 p.m. arrival is being recommended. (P.S. — The Kress Concession stands WILL be open throughout.)
The Obama Campaign, which has responsibility for ticket distribution, asked members of the public to "sign in" to receive their allotment of up to four tickets each.
Those obtaining tickets for the event had the option of getting them Thursday morning at the Kress, Thursday at the Main Street campaign headquarters, or via online e-ticketing through Wednesday. (Photos by Kimberly Vlies, University Communication.)
