Marjorie Weidner named
honorary alumna
One of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay’s
special friends, Marjorie Weidner, was named an honorary
alumna of UW-Green Bay during the 2007 Faculty and
Staff Convocation on Tuesday (Aug. 28). Chancellor
Bruce Shepard announced the designation and presented
a framed certificate to Mrs. Weidner.
Chancellor Shepard warmly greets Marjorie Weidner at Convocation.
“UWGB, now formally, is your alma mater,” Chancellor
Shepard told Mrs. Weidner. “Do continue to be an
active presence on our campus, your campus.”
Shepard noted that Marge Weidner was UW-Green Bay’s second employee and later the wife of the first employee, founding Chancellor Edward Weidner. Convocation was the first gathering of the campus community since Edward Weidner passed away in June.
