With the Office of Marketing and University Communication, Kelly facilitates outside media coverage of the University and generates content for the institution’s web pages, news sites, alumni magazine, newsletters, subscriber feeds and recruitment and outreach efforts.
A native of Minnesota who grew up in the Twin Cities area, Kelly is a 2004 summa cum laude graduate of UW-Eau Claire with a double major in journalism and political science. She was awarded her university’s prestigious Ann Devroy Fellowship, which carries with it an editorial internship with The Washington Post.
Following graduation, Kelly spent a year on the staff of the Stevens Point Journal before relocating to Green Bay to join the Press-Gazette in 2005. She was appointed opinion page editor in May 2010 and was previously the newspaper’s education reporter. Her experience spans traditional print journalism to multimedia with web-only reporting, social media, blogs, photography and video.
