Christopher Sampson joined the UW-Green Bay communication and marketing staff in 1986. In many ways, he has been “the voice of UW-Green Bay”… even though he, himself, is seldom front and center, or in front of a microphone. His is more of an “editorial voice,” with his writing familiar to many through news releases, the Inside UW-Green Bay alumni magazine, web content, scripting of special events, and the daily Log e-news newsletter and twice-monthly Log extra. As communications director, his duties range from routine promotion of daily events to providing public-relations counsel to assisting with writing or proof reading of major institutional documents for senior leadership. A native of Green Bay and a son of the late Packers Glory Years broadcaster Al Sampson, he attended UW-Green Bay for two years and then transferred to UW-Madison to receive his bachelor's in journalism. He was a news reporter and editor for newspapers in La Crosse and Green Bay, and also split time with Phoenix Athletics as a member of the sports information staff before accepting full-time appointment with the University Communication office.
