I am a native of Bangladesh. I came to the US in January, 2003 and did my undergraduate studies at Transylvania University, Lexington, Kentucky. My majors were business administration and economics, and my minors were computer science and mathematics. I then went on to obtain my masters degree in economics from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN, before coming to the University of Kentucky to pursue my Ph.D. degree in economics. I received my Ph. D. in August, 2012. My fields of specialization are labor economics, economics of poverty, empirical econometrics and public economics.
