The American Studies Working Group is an informal society of Americanist scholars from northeastern Wisconsin. The group currently includes scholars in literary studies, history, women's studies, African American studies, and American studies. Participants have included faculty from Lawrence University, Ripon College, St. Norbert's College, UW-Green Bay, UW-Marathon County, UW-Oshkosh, and UW-Stevens Point.

Group History:

Faith Barrett (Lawrence University) organized the founding meeting of the American Studies Working Group in August 2005. The group has no leader or headquarters. Instead, the meeting organizers and sites rotate among the participants.
