The Brown County Historical Society is one of three cosponsors of Voyageur. Headquartered in Green Bay, the Society was founded in 1899 by a group of local historians and is one of the two oldest affiliated societies of the Wisconsin Historical Society. In addition to publishing Voyageur and providing other services, the Society maintains Hazelwood Historic House Museum, built in 1837 and the oldest house in Green Bay located on its original site.

The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay is one of three cosponsors of Voyageur. Founded in 1965, UWGB first opened for classes at its scenic new 700-acre site on the northeast side of Green Bay in 1969. Overlooking the bay of Green Bay, the university is home to about 5,500 students. The Voyageur editorial and business office is located in the university's Studio Arts Building, where the magazine also is designed each semester by senior-level graphic arts students.

St. Norbert College is one of three cosponsors of Voyageur. The four-year Catholic college in the liberal arts and sciences was founded by the Norbertine Order of priests in 1898. The college's historic urban campus of more than 2,000 students is located along the Fox River adjacent to downtown De Pere, located just south of Green Bay. St. Norbert has assisted Voyageur in various capacities over the years and was a participant in the magazine's founding in 1984.
