East River Watershed

East River Land UseThe East River watershed is approximately 374 square km and includes almost the entire east side of the City of Green Bay as well as a large portion of agricultural land. A USGS monitoring station is located at the outlet of the basin at the Monroe Street bridge, and is serviced by the Green Bay Metropolitan Sewerage District. Other USGS stations located within the basin are on Baird Creek at Superior Road and on Bower Creek at CTH MM. The Baird Creek watershed upstream of Superior Road is approximately 56 square km of agricultural and urbanizing land use. Approximately 36 square km of the Bower Creek watershed is located upstream of the CTH MM site, consisting primarily of agricultural land.

The East River is not currently part of the school-based monitoring program. However, Baird Creek is collaboratively monitored by Green Bay Preble and Luxemburg-Casco schools.
