Monitoring Events

The schools have completed over four years of water quality sampling. Each stream was sampled at two locations for habitat, and various water quality parameters, including streamflow, dissolved oxygen, temperature, pH, turbidity/transparency, conductivity, phosphorus, ammonia, and nitrate. The water quality data collected by the students is currently available to query online. The following sites were chosen for sampling activities:

• Apple Creek: Apple Creek Campground at CTH U and French Road
• Ashwauben Creek: Creamery Road, and a site to be determined soon
• Baird Creek: Superior Road and Northview Road
• Duck Creek: CTH FF and Overland Drive
• Spring Brook: CTH E and 9th Street

Amphibians, birds, and macroinvertebrates are also surveyed during April/May, June and July/August, respectively. Habitat, amphibian, bird, and macroinvertebrate data will be added to the online database over the next year.
