Connect to Web Share

Connecting to your web share is like connecting to any network share. Follow the steps below for the type of operating system you are using.

Windows 7

  1. Open Windows Explorer and click "Map Network Drive" at the top of the window.
  2. In the "Drive" box choose any letter that is not currently used. (typically W: for web)
  3. In the "Folder" box enter the path to your Web share. The path needs to contain the web server name, which is weba, and the name of your web share followed by a dollar sign. Example: \\weba\sharename$
  4. Check the "Reconnect at logon" box to connect each time you log into the network.
  5. Click "Finish".

  2. In the Server Address box enter smb://weba/webshare$ and click Connect.
  3. To save it for future reference, click the + button.
  4. You'll need to connect to your share each time you wish to use it.
