The Online Survey Service has many features, many of which are listed below, but to see the features in action see the demonstration survey
- There are 16 types of questions in three categories
- Choice
- Matrix
- Open Ended
- There are several ways to display answers for multiple choice questions:
- Horizontal
- Vertical
- Dropdown
- Matrix
- HTML can be used in questions, answers, page headers, and titles to do things like:
- Change text appearance to allow bold or italic characters.
- Include links to other documents and web sites.
- Include images as part of the questions.
- Page conditions can be set to allow for “branching” questions, where answers to one question can control which subsequent questions appear in the survey.
- Access to the surveys can be set to:
- Single response anonymous access (user can update response within a set period of time)
- Single response anonymous access not updateable
- Multiple response anonymous access not updateable
- Manual entry (for entering data from a paper survey)
- Deploying options
- URL for an email invitation
- HTML code to be in a web page
- Flexibility of survey results.
- Survey results can be reviewed as soon as the first response has been received.
- An analysis report is available through the tool, including response numbers, percentages, and comments.
- Complete responses from individual participants can be reviewed.
- Data can be export to Excel or SPSS.
