Tachon

I can tell you a little about my surname (Tachon). I don't believe there were any Tachons in Wisconsin prior to the second decade of this century. My grandfather and grandmother emigrated from Jersey, Channel Islands in 191? Prior to that, the clan was located in Normandy and prior to that, in the Marseilles area. We are in contact with a distant relative in Meung-sur-Loire, France.

My grandfather arrived prior to my grandmother. He came over on a ship load of cattle which was quarantined in New Jersey for 30 days. He wanted to be a cowboy and settle in Colorado, but he ran out of money in Middleton, Wisconsin.
