Lengteau, Clyde Father was full-blooded French-Canadian, as were his Grandfather and Grandmother. The original spelling of the name Lengteau may have been Lenctot. They are relatedto the Jarvis and Touchette families of Fond-du-Lac. When his grandmother died,Mr. Lengteau's Grandfather departed for the state of Washington, leaving hischildren in an orphanage in Green Bay. The family researched their history inOttawa, Canada. According to what they found there, the family probably arrived inCanada for religious reasons. His niece in Washington D.C. also went throughcensus records.
