Joan of Arc lived in the town of Domremey, France. She helped the king of France save the country during the One Hundred Years War. She was burned alive as a sorcerer in Rouen. In 1920, pope Benedict XV made her a saint. Joan of Arc is a national heroine of France.
The Joan of Arc Chapel was brought from France to the campus of Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Tradition has it that Joan prayed in that chapel before going to battle for France.
