About The Chef
Born in Lebanon and educated in American schools, Rihab (Ree-haab) worked as a computer programmer for Kodak - a far cry from what she is doing now.

Due to the war that swept her native land since 1975, Rihab had to move to the United States in 1990, the country that fascinated her and fell in love with since her childhood through American books and movies, to realize the American Dream. She settled eventually in Milwaukee.

Motivated by her love for cooking, a legacy passed to her by the family through several generations, Rihab opened "Au Bon Appetit" in May 1991 to share her heritage and culture with the American people, using her logical approach as a computer specialist to "update" inherited recipes, lowering low fat content without sacrificing the good taste.

Rihab's cuisine is Lebanese, with a French flair. Her menu features a large variety of tasty, fresh and healthy vegetarian choices, as well as lean meat and chicken specialties in addition to some French influenced surprises, e.g. Poulet Basquais, Ratatouille Provençale, just to name a few. Among the better known Lebanese selections is the appetizing "Mazah": a sort of hors d'oeuvres served with Arak, our national drink.

In a quite short period of time, Rihab was able to place "Au Bon Appetit on the top 25 restaurants list for 4 years in a row. Her recipes have appeared in numerous magazines across the country. Rihab's food was an instant hit and she is always the first to point out that her success is due to the American public. She gets tears in her eyes about how wonderful America has been to her. "Guests" (not customers) come from all over to enjoy her cooking. Catering added another successful dimension to her business. She is currently supplying the upscale markets with her products under her own private label.
