Student Satellite Program
High-Altitude Balloon Launch Internship
A student-driven program that launches and retrieves payloads from a
high-altitude balloon that will ascend up to 100,000 feet - altitudes used by
NASA as Mars analogues and considered to be the "edge of space." The
launch team is trained to carry out the launch, tracking and retrieval of the
balloon and payload.
High-Altitude Balloon Payload Internship
A student-driven program that launches and retrieves payloads from a
high-altitude balloon that will ascend up to 100,000 feet - altitudes used by
NASA as Mars analogues and considered to be the "edge of space." The design team
designs and builds science experiments to fly in this environment, assists in
the launch of the satellite, tracks and chases the balloon as it traverses,
retrieves it upon landing, and analyzes the resulting data.

Instrument Development Program
- Science
Opportunity to serve on a student science team or engineering team for a
multispectral atmospheric observing instrument to be launched on a high-altitude
balloon.
Collegiate Rocket Competition
The annual Student Rocket Competition provides an opportunity and funding for student engineering
teams to design and fly a rocket that excels at a specific goal. Different goals are set for each
annual competition.
