Aster drummondii Lindl.
Drummond's aster
Family: Asteraceae (formerly Compositae)

plant pubescence on stem and leaf phyllaries

Aster drummondii is similar to, and is considered by some authors to be a variety of A. sagittifolius. Stems and leaves tend to be more strongly and regularly pubescent than those of A. sagittifolius. Distribution in Wisconsin is mostly southern. Diverse habitats have been reported, but it is found most often on dry sites in sun or woods of somewhat open canopy.
