108. Leaves bearing glands on
the petiole near the base of the blade (check several leaves);
live twigs when bruised with strong bitter taste and odor
(often described as that of almond, another member of this
genus). Users of the key are encouraged NOT to perform taste
tests on unknown plants, however.
