The perfoliate leaves and broad, flat-topped inflorescence of many small, white flower heads are very distinctive. This is most often a species of shorelines and recently exposed wet soil, and in lesser numbers in a wide variety of moist to wet, sunny sites. It is very common and is found throughout Wisconsin.
