If you are interested in managing and leading people, our management courses will help prepare you. Our general management emphasis prepares you to develop not only managerial skills, but also a leadership presence that will translate into success in a variety of settings. You will be provided several hands-on opportunities to apply management principles and communicate professionally. In particular, you will understand how to effectively lead the related elements of any management situation:
- developing yourself
- leading your team
- thinking strategically
- designing effective organizations
- managing change
What value will I get from management emphasis?
We are one of the few universities in the UW system that offers an emphasis in general management. You gain hands-on management experience in many of our courses. Similarly, you can gain additional management experience through independent studies, which will allow you to develop an area of specialization. We help you develop a competitive advantage by offering a unique approach to broaden your understanding of management challenges in your chosen career by taking additional courses such as foreign languages, communication, e-business, and environmental management from other UW-Green Bay academic departments. You could also get involved in our collegiate Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) or travel abroad to gain global experience.
