Evergreen Theatre Young Actos Summer Program LogoUW-Green Bay and Evergreen Theater are partnering for a summer of theater fun. For the first time ever, all summer classes, rehearsals and the summer production will be held in Theatre Hall on the beautiful UW-Green Bay campus. For over a decade, Evergreen Theater has been able to offer low-cost educational theater programs each summer. Evergreen is incredibly excited to be able to offer several new classes this summer, including classes for those as young as 5.

  • Classes will run for one week each Monday - Thursday, June 13 - 30, 2022.
  • Classes will run from 4:30 p.m. - 5:25 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. - 6:25 p.m.
  • Young actors will have the opportunity to take up to six classes.
  • ​Cost for each class is $25 with a maximum of $50 per student or $100 per family for all three weeks. If you pay more than $100, you will receive a refund for the difference. To bypass waiting for a refund, you can call UW-Green Bay Camps office and register over the phone at (920) 465-2775. 
  • ​A fee waiver is available. If you are unable to afford the cost of your campers classes, please contact UW-Green Bay Camps at camps@uwgb.edu or (920) 465-2775 to receive a separate registration link.
  • To pay with cash or a check, you must contact UW-Green Bay Camps at camps@uwgb.edu or (920) 465-2775.
  • Registration deadline is June 26

Improv (ages 10+)

Learn to think on your feet and work as a team while playing games and participating in improv exercises. Fun and hilarity are sure to be the topics of the day.

Acting 1 (ages 8 - 11)

Learn some of the basics of acting from projection to stage directions and character development. Intended for first timers and those with only a couple of years of experience.

Voice (ages 8 - 11)

Learn some basic techniques to improve your pitch, tone, and intonation.

Acting 2 (ages 12+)

In this class for more experienced actors, students will dive deep into acting with one’s whole self. Students will work on fully committing to a role, understanding and interpreting the script, and developing a character’s physical and vocal aspects. Students will work in groups on scenes.

Imaginary Play

Theater for non-readers or early-stage readers. Students will participate in call and response activities, act out fairy tales, puppetry, and other activities designed to encourage imagination.

Stage Movement (ages 8+)

Students will get to know the mechanics of their body and how to use it effectively and safely onstage. Covering everything from how to sit, stand, and walk on stage, this class focuses on the physicality of acting. Sessions will also include safe combat techniques such as reacting to a punch and bracing a fall.

Mystery Writing

Geared towards some of our younger actors, this class teaches some of the basics of dance movement.

Crafting Props

Love arts and crafts? Then why not try your hand at prop making. Learn how to make something out of nothing. Use your imagination to recyclables into props that can be used on stage. Paint & age modern items to look old or from the future. See what you can create with a little glue, paint, and your imagination.

​Our camp Health Forms are electronic!  You will receive an e-mail closer to camp that will prompt you to fill out your Health Form online.  Health Forms must be filled out online before your camper checks-in to camp.

General Camp Policies

We look forward to working with you and making sure that you have a fun, safe, exciting experience! Certain policies have been developed in order to assure your safety and well-being. The camp reserves the right, upon notification of parents/guardians to dismiss any camper during any session for improper dress, conduct, language, or attitude which, in the judgment of the administrative or counseling staff, is deemed detrimental to the other campers or smooth operation of the camp. If in the judgment of the administrative or counseling staff, your conduct violates any rules and regulations, you may be dismissed without refund of fees and/or referred to appropriate authorities.

Health Services and Insurance

The UW-Green Bay Health and Counseling Center is closed during the summer. Therefore, parents/guardians will be notified of any suspected or known illness or injury. Accident insurance through the University of Wisconsin is provided for all camps. This limited policy covers injuries relating to camp accidents only. It is understood that medical costs in excess of camp insurance will be borne by parents or guardians.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations can be made up to 2 weeks prior to the start of camp. A $5 administrative fee is charged for all cancellations, the remainder will be refunded to you. If camper must cancel for medical reasons, including COVID-19, full refunds are provided. To cancel, please call 920-465-2775 or email camps@uwgb.edu

We reserve the right to cancel any camp due to low enrollment; in such a case, all fees paid will be refunded or the camper can choose to apply fees to a different camp/class in the same year.

Overpayments of less than $10 will not be refunded.
