Center for the Advancement of Teaching & Learning

Reading Group

The CATL Reading Group is open to all. Join us to discuss a few short readings a couple times each semester. Our discussions will center on themes central to teaching and learning. Each semesters’ topics follow a “common thread,” but prior involvement is never required.

Fed in part by our Reading Group topics, CATL hosts a series of workshops intended to serve faculty who would like to try something new or do what they’re already doing even better!

Game Nights!

COMING SOON! The campus's most informal place to learn and grow developing a community of practice between designers, instructors, and staff, CATL game nights will be designed to bring us together, play table-top games, and chat. Games and themes are loosely tied to spur conversation, but one never truly knows where the fun will take us.

Faculty Development Institute

CATL hosts a series of workshops exploring pedagogical issues, faculty development opportunities, specific challenges in instruction, high-impact practices, and more showcasing the thoughtful minds of our community at work as they grapple with the interesting problems percolating in higher education. The all-day institute is held in January.
