Fall Showcase

September 30, 2019  |  3:00 PM - 4:30 PM  |  Phoenix C

Have you ever put in a ton of work to overhaul something (be it a class, curriculum, or student support program)? Have you even gone the next step to research how that overhaul improved student learning? Or how about committee work toward developing or assessing a program? This work is often thankless and goes unnoticed. The Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning, the Provosts’ Office, and the Office of Institutional Strategy and Effectiveness seek to change that. The Fall Showcase will put a spotlight on work that regularly gets overlooked and will bring together a meeting of the teaching, learning, and assessment minds. The goal of this event is to cast a spotlight on work that you're especially proud of in teaching or program development and assessment.

Participants to this event will share the results of their work – a SoTL project, a newly designed curriculum, a successful assignment, a novel assessment method, or student support program – with others who are eager to hear from their experience. (If you have other ideas for something to add to the showcase, please pitch it and we would be glad to consider it.) We will work with participants to help them prepare a handout that describe their work, which they will share at a table where they can describe their findings to visitors eager to apply lessons learned to their classes and programs. This event will showcase the innovative work done across our campuses even as it also passes on information to others in the hopes of building our collective institutional knowledge.

CATL recognizes that all members of the UW-Green Bay are engaged in the teaching and learning mission, so we encourage anyone to apply to present at the Fall Showcase.
