Continuing Education

Many of the instructors who teach classes for the Wisconsin CBRF Training Registry are required to have continuing education in order to renew as an instructor. Below is information and resources to help find continuing education opportunities.

The definition of continuing education is: An instructional program that brings participants up to date in a particular area of knowledge or skills.

The registry will accept actual training received from a web-based source, classroom training or video training. When submitting evidence of continuing education, please submit documentation on how the course increases your knowledge as an instructor related to the subjects taught and adult education. If a training source is questionable, please e-mail cbrfregistry@uwgb.edu.

Requirements for submitting continuing education hours

Classes should be documented with the date of the class, title of the class, length of the class, name of the instructor and instructor signature. This can be done with a certificate, course outline, or by a written statement from the person teaching the course.

Online learning should document the date of the learning, length of the learning experience, title of the course or video, name of the presenter or instructor, and documentation of completion of the course. If the online learning does not have a document that shows completion, the person doing the online learning should have documentation of what was learned from the course and how it improved the instructor’s knowledge related to the subject they teach.

Book and video learning should be submitted by documenting the date and time the person spent viewing or reading, the name and author, and have documentation of what was learned from the course and how it improved the instructor’s knowledge related to the subject they teach.
