Division of Continuing Education and Community Engagement

The Division of Continuing Education and Community Engagement is staffed by experienced and engaged leaders and personnel, highly proficient in their unique areas. Personnel in each area are identified below. Directors develop programs, curriculum and mutually beneficial partnerships and collaborations. Program Specialists have detailed understanding of their dedicated programs. Please reach out to the appropriate person based on area or program. Joy Ruzek

Assistant Vice Chancellor

Joy Ruzek joined the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in December, 2009, and has over 35 years of experience in executive business management and progressive professional training and development. She provides strategic vision, innovative programming and advanced services to address the developmental needs of all ages. She currently oversees a staff of 24. Joy is a recognized entrepreneurial leader who consistently institutes new programs, new partnerships and new approaches to meet the specialized needs of professionals and practitioners throughout the state of Wisconsin and beyond. She currently serves as an Education Consultant for US Department of HUD Neighborhood Network Learning Centers in Wisconsin and West Virginia and is actively involved in numerous professional organizations and associations.

Meagan Strehlow

Executive Director

Meagan Strehlow earned her Master of Science in Education from UW-Superior and her Bachelor of Arts in Education from St. Norbert College. After ten years teaching in the K-12 system, Meagan transitioned to UW-Green Bay in 2014 to lead the College Credit in High School program. As the Executive Director of K-12 and Community Relations, Meagan develops partnerships with educational organizations and schools as well as oversees programs including College Credit in High School, Early College Credit Program, Dual Enrollment Access Academy, GEAR UP, Turbocharge, and the Accelerated Associates Degree and Credit. In addition to her work with K-12 schools, Meagan creates innovative programs to meet the diverse needs of students of all ages.

Outreach Program Manager

Patrick earned a Master of Science in Education degree from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse and his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin Stout. Prior to UW-Green Bay, Patrick worked at an area nonprofit in prevention education. He is an experienced professional with a demonstrated history in academic advising, accommodation services, Title IX, as well as equity, diversity, and inclusion programs and policies. His StrengthsFinder results include Ideation, Strategic, Input, Communicator, and Activator.

Crystal Williams

Program Specialist, College Credit in High School

Crystal Williams earned her Bachelor’s degree in Management and Communication from Concordia University. Prior to UW-Green Bay, she worked fifteen years as a Sales Training Specialist. Crystal’s passion has always been in the field of training, development and education. Crystal currently serves as the Program Specialist providing services through the College Credit in High School program. She works with educators in over 60 high schools to offer courses that allow students to get a head start on their college education. She also oversees the annual UW-Green Bay Academic Competition where over 350 students from area high schools come to the campus and compete in various academic areas.

Tessa Tilot

Program Specialist, Early College Credit Programs

Tessa Tilot is an alumna of Green Bay Preble High School and UW – La Crosse. She majored in professional and organizational communication and minored in professional writing. Tessa currently supports the K-12 and Community Relations area within the Division of Continuing Education and Community Engagement. She coordinates the logistics of the Early College Credit Program and assists with the Turbocharge initiative within the College Credit in High School program.

Samantha Post

Program Manager, Rising Phoenix

Sam Post earned her Master of Education degree in Professional School Counseling from UW-Oshkosh in 2017 and her Bachelor of Science degree is in Psychology and Human Development from UW-Green Bay in 2014. She has profession
al experience in both school counseling and college admissions counseling where she has worked with students of all age ranges on their academic, career, and social journeys. Sam currently serves as a Student Success Coach for innovative student programs.

Kayla Boguski earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in 2015. Prior to this position, she worked in the Admissions Office at UW-Green Bay where she served all age ranges of students through the recruitment cycle for over five years. Kayla currently serves as a Student Success Coach for the Rising Phoenix Early College High School Program at Mishicot and Two Rivers High School.

Angel joined the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in June of 2021. She earned her Master of Science in Education degree in Professional Counseling with a dual emphasis in School Counseling and Student Affairs and College Counseling from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, and her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Minnesota State University Mankato. Prior to UW-GB, Angel worked at Saint Norbert College as an Area Coordinator. She has experience counseling K-12 students, and served college students as an academic advisor, supervisor, AODA counselor and coach. Angel currently coaches Lincoln High School students that are attending classes on the Manitowoc campus.

Adam Landenberger joined the University of Wisconsin- Green Bay in 2019 and joined the K-12 and Community Relations team as a Student Success Coach for the GEAR UP Rising Phoenix Program in 2021. Adam has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. Prior to transitioning to his current role, Adam served as the admissions counselor for UW-Green Bay Marinette Campus. He is thrilled be servicing our GEAR UP Rising Phoenix students from across the state as they work on their Associate of Arts and Science Degree while in their junior and senior years of high school. Go Phoenix!

Student & Community Relations Coordinator, Student Success Coach

Annie joined the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in 2010 after earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies from UW-Madison and her Master of Science degree in K-12 Professional School Counseling from UW-Oshkosh. She was a Senior Academic Advisor prior to her transition to the Student and Community Relations Coordinator. Annie will be doing program coordination for the Accelerated Associate degree, working with credit for prior learning, and providing student support and advising towards college and career pathways.

Aubrey Schramm

Executive Manager, GEAR UP Services

Aubrey joined the division in January 2020, after 20 years in various student services and leadership roles within the UW System, the Department of Public Instruction, and Green Bay Area Public Schools. Aubrey was thrilled to return to UW-Green Bay, her alma mater, to serve students across the state who are enrolled in the Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) precollege program.  Aubrey is also focused on supporting the new Accelerated Degree Program. Aubrey’s primary passion is equity work, and she is proud to work in a student-centric environment that truly fosters and nurtures student equity and development.  Aubrey earned her M.S. in Education-Student Affairs and College Counseling from UW-Oshkosh and her B.A. in Human Development-Child and Family Studies from UW-Green Bay.

Jason Mathwig

Director, Education Outreach

Jason joined the UW-Green Bay Division of Continuing Education & Community Engagement in February of 2017. He has worked in the UW System since 2008 when he started working in the Admissions Office at UW-Eau Claire. He has a B.A. in Mass Communication with an emphasis in Public Relations from UW-Eau Claire and an M.A. in Sports Management from Concordia University, St. Paul. Jason is an alumnus of the Leadership Green Bay Class of 2019. He is a trained Safe Ally. His Strengthsfinder strengths are: Harmony, Includer, Woo, Empathy, and Communication.

Andrea Felmer

University Services Program Associate, Camps and Conferences

Andrea has a B.A. in Musical Theatre and Arts Management from UW-Green Bay.  She has received certificates in Conflict Resolution and Mediation, Mental Health First Aid, and has a Level 2 certificate in Inclusivity and Equity.  Andrea is a trained Safe Ally, and has completed both the Kognito Veterans Awareness training and Gatekeeper Suicide Prevention training.  She has been employed as the University Services Program Associate with Camps and Conferences since 2008.

Susan Pike

Program Specialist, Lifelong Learning Institute

Susan joined UW-Green Bay’s Lifelong Learning Institute in 2017. She spent 17 years at Fort Howard/Georgia Pacific Corp., where she held various positions, including eight years as a Business Analyst in IT. Susan was also an ISO Auditor for the mill and office areas and trained 800+ mill workers on the Office 2010 upgrade. She also worked at several small businesses prior to joining UW-Green Bay. Susan currently serves as the Office Manager for the Lifelong Learning Institute, which has over 1,000 members and offers over 200 courses each semester in Green Bay, Manitowoc, Sheboygan and surrounding areas. She supports over 300 outstanding volunteers that make the Institute one of the best (and one of the best values) in the country.

Teri Zuege-Halvorsen

Area Director, Continuing Professional Education

Executive Director, Institute for Women's Leadership

Teri Zuege-Halvorsen earned her Master of Science Degree in Management and Organizational Behavior from Silver Lake College and her Bachelor of Science in Human Biology and Psychology from the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay. She has worked in the UW System for over 15 years, first as an Associate Professor for Family Living with UW-Extension and since 2016 as the Area Director, Continuing Professional Education in the division.  Teri develops educational programming for social workers and other health and human service professionals to meet licensure requirements, manages the continuing professional education staff on the main and branch campuses, establishes partnerships with community leaders and oversees the curriculum development of innovative continuing education programs that meet the needs of stakeholders, partners, students and community members on all four of the UW- Green Bay campuses.

Kerry Winkler

Program Specialist, Wisconsin Caregiver Academy

Kerry Winkler is a UW-Green Bay alumna, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Humanistic Studies. Kerry previously worked at Bellin Hospital where she coordinated the Continuing Medical Education Program and obtained the highest form of accreditation for the CME program. In 2016, Kerry joined the Division as a program specialist. She manages the Wisconsin Caregiver Academy, developing train-the-trainer curriculum as well as creating other healthcare-related programing. Kerry has a passion for education and enjoys creating new and innovative programing.

Sherri Meglic

Program Specialist, Continuing Professional Education

Sherri Meglic earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from UW-Eau Claire. She worked for many years in the commercial employee benefits industry and is a licensed insurance agent and earned her CEBS designation. Sherri has been working for Continuing Education and Community Engagement since August 2019 and she supports the programs in Continuing Professional Education and the Wisconsin Caregiver Academy.

Linda Hornick

Program Specialist, CPE - Marinette Campus

Linda Hornick joined the Division as a Program Specialist in August of 2018 after working with the UW System sincd 2015.  She is an alumna of UW-Marinette and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Psychology from UW-Green Bay.  She is currently a board member of InVenture North. She also serves on the Education & Workforce Development Committee with the Marinette Menominee Area Chamber of Commerce and the Peshtigo Career, Education and Community Expo Planning Group.  Her responsibilities for engaging the community include developing professional educational opportunities for individuals and businesses, producing shows at the the Children’s Theatre and providing travel opportunities.

Melissa Betke

Program Specialist, CPE - Manitowoc & Sheboygan  Campuses

Melissa joined the UW-Green Bay Division of Continuing Education & Community Engagement in October of 2018. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Communication with emphases in Public Relations and Mass Media from UW-Green Bay. Prior to UW-Green Bay, she worked for the Green Bay Packers in the Brand & Marketing and Premium Seating Departments and worked at the Kohler Company in the Generator Division. Melissa currently serves as the Program Specialist providing professional development and community engagement opportunities to the Manitowoc and Sheboygan communities. 
Her Strengthsfinder strengths are: Woo, Activator, Communication, Positivity & Strategic.

Tammy Clausen

Business Development

Tammy Clausen earned her MBA from UW – Oshkosh and a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Marketing.  She has over 17 years of business development, consulting and entrepreneurial experience in the healthcare, insurance and manufacturing industries.  She also was as a professor at UW Marinette, teaching Microsoft Word, Excel and Access programs.  Tammy joined the Division of Continuing Education & Community Engagement in January 2020 in a business development role. She works with employers to strategically develop innovative  professional development and work place educational programs to meet workforce gaps.  She serves the Marinette, Oconto, Door and Brown counties.

Judy Price

Business Development

Judy Price is a UW-Green Bay alumna, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communication and Political Science, and a minor in Environmental Policy and Planning.  In January 2020, Judy joined the division as a Business Development Specialist, providing professional development and education opportunities for employers in Brown, Door, Outagamie, Calumet, Kewaunee, Manitowoc, and Sheboygan counties. Previously, she worked for almost twelve years in corporate training at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, and has great passion for helping business and industry grow through training and education.

Margie Reichwald


Margie Reichwald is the Director of the Wisconsin CBRF Training Registry at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. She provides progressive leadership for all facets of the Wisconsin Department of Health Services CBRF Training Registry Project. She has over 20 years of leadership and development experience working in the health care industry. Margie has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and is currently working on a Master’s of Arts in Applied Professional Studies.  Margie continues to cultivate relations with the Department of Health Services and other statewide agencies for collaborative projects and opportunities.

Laura Nolan

Program Specialist

Laura Nolan is a program specialist for the Wisconsin CBRF Training Registry She has a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services and has worked in the health care field for 25 years, with 18 years of multi-facility management. Laura has used her experience to develop assisted living curriculum and as a seminar speaker. Her passion for the elderly and people with dementia is evidenced by her involvement in the Brown County Dementia Friendly Coalition. As an active member of the coalition, Laura helps train businesses to be dementia friendly through the Purple Angel Program.

Samantha Anderson

University Services Program Associate, Wisconsin CBRF Training Registry

Samantha Anderson has been a University Services Program Associate for the Wisconsin CBRF Training Registry since 2017. Sam has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. Sam previously worked in Community Education at Mohave Community College in Kingman, Arizona and has three years of direct care experience working with the elderly and young adults.

University Services Program Associate

Debi earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Secondary English and Spanish Education from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse.  Debi was a middle and high school Spanish and English teacher for fourteen years, has experience working in the private sector in customer care and as in sales support, and has volunteered and worked for non-profit organizations in Brown County. Debi began working as a University Services Program Associate for the Wisconsin CBRF Training Registry in September of 2020.

Kassie VanRemortel


Kassie VanRemortel earned a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration from Drake University and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Graceland University.  She has worked for the private sector in various roles, including accounting, purchasing and HR.  Kassie started working in higher education for Indian Hills Community College in 1986 as a Displaced Homemaker counselor and later Graceland University as Assistant Dean of Admissions.  In 2001 she joined UW-Green Bay as Director of Government Affairs and Economic Development.

Ericka Bloch PhotoEricka Bloch

University Services Program Associate, Government Affairs and Economic Development

Ericka graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in 2016 with a Bachelor’s in Spanish and Communication with an emphasis in Mass Media and Public Relations. At UW-Green Bay, she participated in the National Student Exchange program where she studied Spanish at the University of Puerto Rico - Cayey. Ericka has been working as the University Services Program Associate for Government Affairs since December of 2017 where she assists in putting together trainings for local government officials throughout the state of Wisconsin.
