Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst, Corporate Strategy
Why did you choose to go into your program of study?
I have always been fascinated by economics and politics, so it was only fitting that chose fields of study that matched my interests.
When you began at UW-Green Bay, what did you expect for your future?
When I began, I knew the excellence that came from UW-Green Bay and I knew that pursuing an education at UW-Green Bay would benefit my future. What I was surprise to find out was the one-on-one attention I would receive from both the faculty and staff. The relationships I've built with my professors, fellow students and UW-Green Bay alumni have already been pivotal to my success following graduation.
Did you have a job/internship in your field while going to college that helped spark your interest?
I had a phenomenal internship experience while in college at the New North, Inc. At the New North, I worked side-by-side with public and private sector leaders throughout Northeast Wisconsin and beyond. I was given the opportunity to take the lead on major projects at the Company working with experts in a variety of fields. The challenge and intellectual stimulation of my experiences at the New North, along with the connections that I made with leaders in the business community, led me to where I am today.
What were you involved in while a student at UW-Green Bay?
During college I was involved in a myriad of on-campus and off-campus organizations. On-campus I was involved in Student Government Association, UW-Green Bay Investment Club, College Republicans, University Leadership Awards Committee, Future Alumni Association, and Students in Free Enterprise, just to name a few. I was equally committed off-campus as I was involved with my local Neighborhood Association, the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce Current Young Professionals Network and volunteer activities throughout Green Bay.
Where are you currently employed? Please describe your position.
I am currently employed by Associated Banc-Corp (Associated Bank) in the Corporate Strategy Department. Associated Bank is a great company, dedicated not only to our customers, but to the development of every colleague. For all students nearing graduation, I would strongly recommend examining the corporate culture and development opportunities within each company you're considering. It's important to start your career at an organization that values your ideas and is dedicated to your success, like Associated Bank.
How do you keep in contact with other alumni?
I make it a point to keep in touch with fellow alumni and to give back to the UW-Green Bay as much as I can. I serve on the Alumni Association Board of Directors and frequently come back to my alma mater for speaking engagements, guest lectures, and on-campus community activities.
What advice would you have for a student wanting to enter your field?
Work very hard, be passionate about your studies and network with as many people as you can.
Can we share your e-mail address on our website/can career services give it out to students inquiring about a job in your place of employment/field?
