Job Title: Corporate Recruiting Manager
Why did you choose to go into your program of study?
At the time, I really wanted to do something that involved writing. I originally thought that I would get into print Journalism.
When you began at UW-Green Bay, what did you expect for your future?
I expected that I would have a lot of opportunity, that I would continually be moving up/out and keep trying new things, having new experiences.
Did you have a job/internship in your field while going to college that helped spark your interest?
Yes, I ended up doing an internship in Human Resources my last year of college. That ultimately started me on my career path.
What were you involved in while a student at UW-Green Bay?
I worked 39 hours a week while I went to school, so I really didn't get terribly involved on campus outside of academics.
Where are you currently employed? Please describe your position.
I am a Corporate Recruiting Manager at Schneider National, Inc. I am currently involved with our college recruiting program. My role is accountable for finding and bringing in the best and the brightest talent we can find.
How do you keep in contact with other alumni?
Through social media. I also work with a few hundred UW-Green Bay alumni!
What advice would you have for a student wanting to enter your field?
The best advice I would give a student, is to take the best job you can find, but take a job. Don't hold out waiting for your dream job to come along. Any job is going to add great value to your work experience. Work hard enough and stay focused enough and you'll eventually land that dream job. Oh, and that dream job will be several different jobs throughout your life.
