The Damkoehler family established a design scholarship in memory of Edna Walter Damkoehler, who died in 2011. David and Edna Damkoehler founded Damkoehler Chemical and Paper, Inc., Oconto, Wisconsin. Their son David Jr. is a retired Professor of Art at UW-Green Bay and his wife, Toni Damkoehler is currently an Associate Professor of Graphic Design.
 
Edna Walter Damkoehler was a charter member of the Founders Association and an enthusiastic supporter of UW-Green Bay. She took numerous German courses with Dr. W. Werner Prange and always took a full schedule of Learning In Retirement courses. Her license plate was "UWGB4U". In 1998 the Damkoehler family established a visual art scholarship in memory of her husband, David L. Damkoehler, who died in 1983.
