Gerald L. Stone and Ursula Delworth Social Justice Annual Scholarship

Student Type:

Continuing, Transfer

This scholarship was established in 2013 by Professor Kristin Vespia to recognize the late Professors Stone and Delworth, both of whom were nationally known for their research and leadership in the field of counseling psychology and for their work in multiculturalism. They touched many lives as respected professors and academic mentors, as university counseling center directors and clinicians, and as authors, journal editors, and former Presidents of the American Psychological Association's Society of Counseling Psychology. In those different roles they both advocated for and made significant contributions to the enhancement of multicultural research, the promotion of multicultural competence in professionals, and the overall diversification of the field of psychology and its knowledge base. They were also both personally and professionally dedicated to issues of social justice. This scholarship is open to applicants from all undergraduate programs, as well as undeclared majors, because it is intended to recognize students from across the university who share that commitment to diversity and social justice.
