Psychology, Human-Development

Student Type:

This scholarship is in memory of KaNisha Flemming. KaNisha passed away at the age of 22 on January 12th, 2014 following a short battle with Leukemia. She was scheduled to graduate May 2014 with a double major in UWGB in Psychology and Human Development. It was KaNisha's desire to follow her passion for helping troubled teens. She was a great role model for the numerous young people she mentored and taught. At UWGB she was involved in many different clubs and was consistently found on the Dean's List. KaNisha had the most caring personality. She went out of her way to cheer people up and always lit up the room with her smile. KaNisha always took time to talk, to listen, to care, and to help everyone. She had a huge positive outlook on life and never let anything bring her down. KaNisha was someone who impacted her community and strengthened the people around her. UW-Green Bay awarded a posthumous degree in recognition of KaNisha's accomplishments during the Spring 2014 graduation ceremony. This scholarship is intended to be awarded to someone who has been affected by cancer whether it was their own experience with cancer or that of a loved one.
