Sahil and Rupa Tak Endowed Scholarship

Student Type:

New, Continuing

Sahil Tak is a native of the Washington, D.C. area and studied finance and information technology at Boston College, where he received his bachelor’s degree in 1999. He worked in finance in New York City until 2007 when he relocated to Oconto Falls with his family’s investment in a century-old tissue mill. Renamed ST Paper LLC, the mill now produces parent rolls that are sold to tissue and napkin converters. Revitalized as one of Oconto County’s largest employers, the company has earned positive attention for a variety of green initiatives including the company’s efficient processing of recycled waste paper. Tak says the company’s emphasis on philanthropy is in keeping with the overall aim of restoring the paper company not only as a leading manufacturer but as a valued, community-conscious corporate citizen. In 2011, Tak and ST Paper created an annual scholarship fund to benefit students from the six-county area north and northwest of Green Bay where most of the company’s employees, friends and neighbors reside. In 2012, Tak and ST Paper established this endowment fund in the name of Sahil and his wife, Rupa.
