COVID-19 TEMPORARY LEARNING ACCOMMODATIONS

As part of the University's response to COVID-19, we are committed to supporting students upon their return to campus, including those who are medically vulnerable and at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19. Students who fall into one or more of the high risk categories as listed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and who wish to seek a temporary learning accommodations beyond the COVID-19 measures taken by UWGB, should follow the guidelines as outlined below.  
 

Vulnerable Populations

Student populations with vulnerabilities include (as identified by the CDC):
  • Students who are medically vulnerable and at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19.
  • Students who live with a person/s who are vulnerable and at a higher risk for COVID-19.

​Students who fall into one or more of these populations, or who live with an individual who falls into one or more of the populations, may utilize the following process if they wish to request a temporary learning accommodations upon their return to campus.

Types of Temporary Learning Accommodations

The following list does not include all possibilities for temporary learning accommodations for vulnerable populations, but examples are based on availability and include:

  • Remote learning.
  • Modified class schedule such as a change in class time or flexible learning arrangement to decrease contact with others.
  • Usage of additional or enhanced protective equipment such as gowns, masks, face shields, gloves, or other gear beyond what may be provided in the ordinary course.  
  • Temporarily removing or modifying course content that may be less critical or incidental.
