Course Description:

Discipline in the Secondary Classroom (DSC) is designed to guide practicing 9th-12th grade teachers through a process of developing or improving on an effective classroom management plan that is positive, proactive, and instructional. The DSC model is based on the following principles or beliefs:

• Structuring your classroom for success
• Teaching behavioral expectations to students
• Observing and supervising student behaviors
• Interacting positively with students
• Correcting students fluently

Come join us in this book-study format to explore the DSC process, and learn how to use it as a guide to improve your current classroom management practices!

One book is required for all participants in this class. UWGB will contact you with more information about the book following the course registration deadline.

~Offered in partnership with Green Bay Area Public Schools.

Comments from Participants:

"My course syllabus will improve due to principles taught in this course. This will remove a lot of lost learning time due to gaps when some students get ahead and others lag, and I struggle to piece together appropriate learning experiences for more advanced learners. I also learned more motivational skills that are very useful!"

"Practical information that can be used on a daily basis when working with students or setting up your classroom."
