Cyber Security: Protecting your Networks and Preparing for a Cyber Incident

Learn about the state resources that are available to help local governments in event of a cyber incident. State and local cyber security officials will provide information on best practices for local governments to secure their networks and data. You will learn simple steps governments can take to safeguard their systems and prepare for a cyber incident.

Preparing for a Power Outage

Everything in our lives is dependent on reliable power, including critical services like emergency response, water, wastewater and communications. Whether a power outage is caused by a malevolent cyberattack, a weather event or natural disaster, a long-term power outage will create major problems throughout a community. Emergency management officials will provide information on what steps local government should be taking to prepare for a loss of power and what to expect from local utilities, the state and the federal government in the event of a catastrophic power outage.
