The Education Center for First Nations Studies
Personnel from UW-Green Bay's Center for First Nations Studies embody the mission of UW-Green Bay through their commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and creative initiatives to advance learning both on campus and in the community.
Their priority is to prepare K-12 teachers and university faculty to deliver accurate, culturally competent instruction regarding Wisconsin American Indian Nations, and to provide students and educators instructional resources on how to better integrate First Nations content and pedagogy into courses across the curriculum. The Center provides an extraordinary opportunity to learn from First Nations Elders, who teach from a core set of values — respect, reciprocity, responsibility and relationship — that extend across tribes and bands, peoples and nations.
