SAIL - Safe and Inclusive Living on the UW-Green Bay Campus

The Safe And Inclusive Living (SAIL) community is a campus housing alternative in which two or more students mutually agree to share a university apartment composed of individual bedrooms regardless of the occupant's sex, gender identity, gender expression, and/or sexual orientation. Through the creation of this community, transgender and gender non-conforming students and their allies, can live in an open and supportive environment where they can rest assured their community neighbors are striving to understand and support one another's sexual orientation, gender identities, and life choices.

The philosophy behind SAIL is simple. UW-Green Bay wants all on-campus residents to feel safe and welcome in their residential community. For LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and/or questioning) students, this can be challenging for a number of reasons. Allowing LGBTQ+ students to self-select into this community allows students to be more comfortable in their apartment and on their floor/community. Allies are allowed to live on the floor, as space allows.  Please see the Community Living Agreement for more information.
