The Office of Residence Life is pleased to provide you with a well-maintained room or apartment. If you encounter items in need of repair or replacement in your room or apartment, report these issues by submitting an online maintenance request.

Meet Your Facilities Operations Staff

Steve Gering
Maintenance Supervisor - 20 years

Steve oversees and directs the daily maintenance operations in Residence Life including building repair, life safety, security, custodial, HVACR, and grounds. Steve’s favorite part about his job is the students, guests, and colleagues that he has been able to meet and help over the years.

 In Steve’s free time he enjoys spending time with his family and grandchildren. His hobbies include woodworking, auto repairs and car collecting.

Joseph Brzezinski
Maintenance Specialists Advance – 10 years

Joe repairs everything from a screw missing in a door to replacing pumps on boilers. He also spends a lot of his time dealing with bugs, sewer backups, as well as the door lock and fire protection systems.  Joe’s favorite part about his job is helping the students with whatever they need.  Joe also mentions that he enjoys getting to see the end results of his hard work when fixing things around campus.

 Joe has been married to his wife Mary Jo for 33 years, and also has two children Melissa and Drew. Joe also has a son in law named Steve. In Joe’s free time he enjoys vacationing in Door County and playing baseball, which he played previously for 15 years and coached for three. The number one thing on Joe’s bucket list is to go to a Brewers baseball fantasy camp someday.

Sharon Archiquette
Custodial Lead – 4 years

Sharon oversees custodial services, conducts interviews, and also trains and supervises student staff.

In Sharon’s free time she enjoys sewing, gardening, and spending time with her Siberian husky dog named Blue.

Dave Landenberger
Custodial Lead – 2 years

Dave supervises student staff custodians as they clean common spaces during the school year and deep clean all bed spaces for summer guests and students. Dave also handles some maintenance requests like light bulb replacements, window screens, curtain repair, toilets, drains, and more!

Mark Olcott
Facilities Repair – 1st year

Mark is responsible for the repairs of the following: doors, hardware, windows, screens, siding, brick, roofs, gutters, splash guards, concrete steps, and handrails. Mark also repairs walls, ceilings, floor coverings, stair treads, painting, kitchen areas, vanity, medicine cabinets, towel bars and more!  In addition he helps with some custodial work, repairs furniture, and helps with whatever else is needed to be fixed.

 In Mark’s free time he enjoys whitetail deer hunting, being outdoors, and anything that involves spending time with his family.

Nick Phillips - 1st year
HVAC/R Specialist

Nick is in charge of the following tasks: heating, cooling, refrigeration, ventilation, electrical, fire and door lock control systems. Nick also works on any other tasks that require troubleshooting.

During Nick’s free time he enjoys watching his favorite football team, the Green Bay Packers.
