  B.A. in Physical Education (Athletic Training) - California State University, Long Beach (1990)
  M.S. in Physical Education (Exercise Physiology) - California State University, Sacramento (1996)
  Ph.D. in Exercise Physiology - University of Pittsburgh (2004)
  Dr. Gear is a licensed and certified athletic trainer with over 25 years experience as an athletic trainer and athletic training educator. Dr. Gear also serves as a peer reviewer for the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE).

  Research:

  Dr. Gear's research interests include examining the effects fatigue has on proprioception and stability and its relation to musculoskeletal injury, and the effect therapeutic interventions have during the healing process.
