Rotation Schedule

Key Rotation Information:

The UWGB Dietetic Internship prides itself in a variety of experiences throughout the community. Each intern will experience some of the communities best rotations in the following key areas:

  • Community Wellness - 6 weeks
  • Women, Infants and Children - 3 weeks
  • School Food Service - 4-6 weeks
  • Hospital Food Service - 2-4 weeks
  • Outpatient Medical Nutrition Therapy - 2 weeks
  • Long-Term Care - 3 weeks
  • Inpatient Medical Nutrition Therapy - 7 weeks + 2 weeks independent relief at MNT site that is incorporated in MNT rotation
  • Open rotation - 1 week (this rotation is determined by your personal preference in areas of dietetics and we do our best to match you with additional experience in the area you want to learn more about.)

Sample Rotation Schedule

The sample Rotation Schedule illustrates the specific locations around the state of Wisconsin where the internship experiences can take place at. Our rotations extend from the Milwaukee and Madison regions to the central Wisconsin area up through the Fox Valley, and Green Bay areas to the most northern of Wisconsin/Michigan border. We pride ourselves in doing our very best in matching the needs of the intern to the experiences in the community.

2022-2023 Dietetic Internship Rotation Schedule sample

Class at UW-Green Bay/Fox City Location

  • Friday 9 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.; unless otherwise noted. Approximately 50% of classes are virtual.

Professional Development

  • Orientation is a 2 week experience incorporating introductory learning of the major areas of dietetics. It incorporates speakers, case studies, role play, and explanations of syllabi and assignments to prepare you for a successful internship experience. The orientation takes place at UWGB campus.
  • Attend and participate in Wisconsin Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics area and state meetings.
  • RD exam and preparation - scheduled time during the final week of the internship to prepare for the exam and provide information about CDR.
