Nutritional Science / Dietetics

UW-Green Bay is home to one of the nations' leading Nutrition Science/Dietetics Programs. Nutrition Science is an exciting and growing field which uses food as medicine to promote health and prevent and heal disease throughout the lifespan. Students of nutrition science study nutrients at the molecular level, analyze current nutrition research, learn how to counsel and educate the public, and solidify their culinary skills.

Innovative Curriculum
We offer diverse and exciting courses that focus on the newest, most relevant research in nutrition, including the science of nutrigenomics and skills in culinary medicine.

Our exceptional network of community partners provide students with exciting and relevant career building skills through course practicums, independent studies, internships, and student employment opportunities. Students build real-world skills interacting with nutrition professionals at locations including Festival Foods, Integrative Therapeutics, major area hospitals, and Lambeau Field.

Continuing Education
Students desiring to continue their nutrition science education can apply to the pre-select UWGB Dietetic Internship Program en route to becoming a Registered Dietitian, and our Master's Degree in Integrative Health and Nutrition, coming in fall 2020.
 

The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Didactic Program in Nutrition and Dietetics (DPD), is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Our program adheres to the knowledge, skills and competencies put forth by ACEND, which ensures the quality and continued improvement of nutrition and dietetics education programs.
