Essential Job Functions

Promote and support the philosophy and mission of the Academic Advising Office, Enrollment Services Division, and university-wide initiatives related to the student learning experience and academic success. Advise current students on academic programs and requirements relevant to their academic and career development. Report to and assume duties assigned by the Manitowoc and Sheyboygan CEO's. This position will be a shared 50/50 position between UW-Green Bay, Manitowoc and UW-Green Bay, Sheboygan campuses. The incumbent should be open and flexible to changes that may occur as the result of integration into one University evolves.

This position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Advise new, transfer, reentry, and continuing students on general education, supporting courses for majors and minors, and rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Counsel students with regard to major/career goal setting and academic planning.
  • Review credit evaluations to determine assignment of transfer courses to General Education requirements.
  • Refer students to other resources as appropriate: faculty advisors, advising resources and tools, other university offices or personnel, and resources external to campus.
  • Advise and instruct students and staff on the use and application of the Student Information System, the Transfer Information System (TIS) and other website resources.
  • Advise pre-professional students and maintain assigned pre-professional program information, including representative contacts and literature updates.
  • Assist with special event planning related to academic advising and as Majors Fairs and Registration and Resources Advising.



  • Bachelor's Degree at time of application
  • At least two years of professional experience in advising, counseling, leading, training, teaching in higher education.


  • Master's degree

Conditions of Appointment

100% position split between University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Sheboygan Campus (50%) and University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Manitowoc Campus (50%).  Light travel to support advising related responsibilities.

Position is a full-time Academic Staff appointment.  Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s). Minimum salary of $41,000.

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
