Essential Job Functions

This position reports to the Marketing Manager and initiates, develops, and implements operational services that support a defined project, program, work unit, or function to advance program goals and objectives. May supervise staff and/or approve unit expenditures. The Admissions Marketing & Visit Manager plays a key role in the development of annual marketing and communication recruitment plans, campaigns, deliverables and materials in support of the University’s enrollment goals across all prospective student constituencies, including traditional, transfer, graduate studies and adult students for all four UW-Green Bay campuses. In this role, the Admissions Marketing & Visit Manager will lead recruitment communication efforts, working to align and integrate these efforts with the broader annual marketing recruitment strategy. The annual marketing recruitment strategy, to include campaign messaging, budgets and paid media recommendations, will be developed collaboratively with the Marketing Manager. The Admissions Marketing & Visit Manager will lead development of campaign deliverables for Admissions.

The Admissions Marketing & Visit Manager will lead a variety of Admissions-related operational projects, requiring both strategic and tactical marketing skills for traditional and new channels. The Admissions Marketing & Visit Manager is expected to be proactive, strategic, outgoing, organized, collaborative, entrepreneurial and detail-oriented, while also possessing excellent oral and written communication skills.

The Office of Marketing and University Communication brings UW-Green Bay’s story to life in creative and compelling ways, honoring brand identity and standards, and at the same time, assuring communications effectively speak to variying target audiences. Utilizing a strategic mix of traditional and emerging marketing and communication channels, the team utilizes an integrated approach that considers both marketing and communication strategies, while collaborating with University and community subject matter experts to highlight UW-Green Bay students, faculty, staff, alumni and academic programs that are on the rise and making a difference in our world.

The Admissions Marketing & Visit Manager is a member of both the Office of Admisions and Marketing and University Communication and reports directly to the Marketing Manager assigned to Enrollment Services, with a dotted line to the Director of Admissions. In support of the University’s intentional student access mission and aggressive student recruitment efforts, the Admissions Marketing & Visit Manager works closely with the Marketing Manager while supervising additional marketing recruitment roles.

Together the Admissions Marketing & Visit Manager and the Marketing Manager develop the University’s annual marketing recruitment plans and strategies in support of the University’s enrollment objectives and academic plan. Major areas of focus include management of the Admissions website enhancements, digital marketing, creative copywriting and proofing, print marketing, email marketing, digital marketing, social media channels, marketing research, digital analytics, lead generation and data management. The Admissions Marketing & Visit Manager also develops the annual recruitment communications plan.

This position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Plans, implements, executes, and evaluates existing strategies and objectives for a program and makes recommendations to unit leadership for program or function enhancement.
  • Identifies workflow needs, contributes to the development of strategic and operational solutions, allocates resources, and implements new or revised unit operational policies and procedures.
  • May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees.
  • Schedules logistics and secures resources for program activities across multiple work units to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures, and specifications.
  • Leads the development and preparation of periodic reports and financial statements, and records progress, status, or other special reports for leadership or external agencies.
  • May assist in the development and monitoring of the unit or program budget and approve unit expenditures.
  • Contributes to the preparation of proposals for funding and/or funding continuation from outside sponsors.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Marketing and University Communication and Admissions.
  • Oversee the development of campus visit strategies and innovation to improve the campus visit experience, including supervision of Campus Visit Coordinator.


  • Bachelor's degree in Strategic Marketing or Communication, Advertising, Journalism, Public Relations, or related communications or business field at time of application
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with experience serving as a key contributor in a marketing organization, team or agency at both the strategic and tactical levels
  • Working knowledge of marketing strategies, evaluation and techniques
  • Proven problem solving, team, project and time management skills
  • Creative thinking skills with an ability to bring forward new ideas to expand reach of marketing and advertising efforts
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment, independently as well as a member of a team
  • Strong knowledge of word processing, excel and power point software and experience with desktop/laptop standard business software

  • Experience as a marketing, communications, media, brand or account coordinator or specialist in an integrated marketing communications department/environment
  • Marketing recruitment, communication or brand coordination experience in higher education, corporate or an agency environment
  • Marketing recruitment experience in a similarly-structured environment (education, transportation, customer service, construction, etc.)
  • Media buying or evaluation experience

Conditions Of Appointment

Position is a full-time Academic Staff appointment.  This position may have the option to work on-campus or a hybrid schedule subject to approved telecommuting request.  Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s). Salary range of $59,000-$60,000.

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).


The UW System provides an excellent benefits package to meet the diverse needs of its employees. This includes several health insurance options, with annual deductibles as low as $250/individual and $500/family. Our benefits package also includes dental, vision, several life insurance options, AD&D and Accident insurance and Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts. We participate in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS), where employer contributions begin immediately and employees are fully vested after 5 years of service. The UW System also provides supplemental retirement savings programs including a 403(b) and Deferred Compensation.

In addition, employees receive several types of paid leave benefits, which are prorated for employees working less than 100%. This includes 9 legal holidays, 36 hours of personal holiday and between 96-130 hours of sick leave annually. Employees earn 13-27 days of vacation each year, depending on years of service and employment type.
