Essential Job Functions

The Assistant Director of Admissions for Regional Recruitment reports to the Director of Admissions and supervises and coordinates all activities related to the recruitment and enrollment of institutionally-identified priority student populations within the regions surrounding the four UW-Green Bay (UWGB) Campuses. This position will have an additional focus on recruiting underrepresented students. This position is responsible for developing innovative techniques of recruitment, and keeping UW-Green Bay on the leading edge of higher education marketing, while serving our local students. The Assistant Director performs all of the duties of a professional admissions adviser consistent with the office vision statement, and participates extensively in recruitment-related activities as an integral part of the recruitment staff.

This position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Oversee marketing and recruitment activities for the regions surrounding the campuses. Write an annual marketing and recruitment plan, and oversee all aspects of implementing the plan. Design and oversee periodic recruitment retreats among Admissions staff, and guests as appropriate for target audiences.
  • Work with the Admissions leadership team to formulate and enact a recruitment strategy to enroll local and regional underrepresented students.
  • Serve on Project Coastal committees and work groups to ensure the best possible unification of the four campuses.
  • Serve as a liaison to local high school staff and the local 2 year campuses staff.
  • Supervise Admissions recruitment staff academic staff positions and student employees.
  • Strengthen external partnerships that support recruitment.
  • Serve on Turbocharge Committees or working groups.
  • Research market-based traits of target audiences as defined by institutional priorities, and apply to recruitment activities. Develop new, targeted communications as appropriate, using relevant technologies and methods.
  • Act as back up CRM resource for Admissions. Participate in product development and serve as trainer for Admissions users.
  • Assess effectiveness of recruitment initiatives- demonstrate ROI (return on Investment) whenever possible.
  • Coordinate pilot recruitment activities (such as: highlighting majors, on-site admissions and/or off­ campus admitted student receptions.)
  • Serve as an Admissions Office leader by participating in recruitment events and working with prospective students/families when necessary and when student issues are elevated to the supervisor level.
  • Work closely with the Director of Student Success and Engagement to ensure that we are able to support the students who are admitted to UWGB. Coordinate the GPS program components for Enrollment Services.
  • Oversee recruitment, marketing, and publications budgets for the regions surrounding the campuses.
  • Oversee recruitment schedule related to school visits and college fairs. Establish priorities for fairs and visits. Oversee and participate in such activities
  • Coordinate and oversee SEARCH purchases and communications, as appropriate for institutional target markets.
  • Review admissions files for target populations; serve as personal liaison with target audiences. Assist targeted students with all aspects of the application, admission, and enrollment process.
  • Serve on University committees as assigned.



  • Bachelors degree at time of application
  • 5 years of admissions or related higher education experience


  • Masters degree
  • Demonstrated leadership experience skills including the ability to provide dynamic and effective leadership of diverse staff
  • Passion for diversity and inclusion and an understanding of needs of underrepresented students
  • Demonstrated understanding of complex issues facing higher education
  • Comprehensive knowledge of principles and practices of marketing and recruitment in higher education
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, promote, and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers, subordinates, and personnel in local high schools, community colleges, university campuses, and other institutions
  • Experience with college-level recruitment initiatives

Conditions of Appointment

This position will require occasional travel and evening and weekend work.

Position is a full-time (100%) Academic Staff appointment.  Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s). Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
