Position Information

Working Title:  Data Reporting Specialist
UW System Title:  IS Specialist

Essential Job Functions

This position reports to the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and is responsible for managing complex data to support institutional research and academic planning. This position mines, compiles, organizes, and assesses data in order to provide accurate and timely information to leadership for strategic analysis and decision-making.

This position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and evaluate data reporting systems.
  • Provide support for the institutional research database and website.
  • Input, maintain, mine, organize, and analyze data in confidential databases and systems for purposes such as accreditation efforts, assessment plans, enrollment trends, and program review.
  • Assist with the use of the Academic Performance Solutions (APS) dashboard.
  • Generate data-based reports to be used for curricular and departmental outcomes.
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of weekly enrollment reports, as well as student profiles of enrolled students each term.
  • Provide expert statistical consulting, analysis, and technical assistance on research projects, program assessment, and evaluation.
  • Maintain historic information on enrollment at UW-Green Bay, within the UW System, and the country.
  • Assist with UW-Green Bay, UW System, and external stakeholder reports and surveys.


  • Bachelor's Degree in statistics, public policy, social science, higher education, or related field at time of application
  • Experience with databases and software applicable to this position, such as HRIS, SIS, SPSS
  • Proficiency with reporting tools used to analyze data housed in a large-scale enterprise resource planning application, such as Oracle PeopleSoft, Tableau, Hyperion, Interactive Reporting, OBIEE, or SQL
  • Experience mining, compiling, sorting, and organizing data for use in strategic planning

  • Experience in a higher education environment

Conditions Of Appointment

Position is a full-time Academic Staff appointment.  Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s). Salary range of $53,000 to $63,000

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
