Position Information

Working Title:  Head Coach - Women's Soccer
UW System Title:  Coach

Essential Job Functions

This position reports to the the Deputy Athletic Director for Compliance and Student Services and is responsible for all aspects of running a successful Division 1 Women’s Soccer program.

This position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a competitive intercollegiate women’s soccer program within the Horizon League. 
  • Recruitment of student-athletes through observation of ability and talent in accordance with the rules and regulations of the NCAA, Horizon League and UW-Green Bay. 
  • Provide technical expertise and utilize sound coaching methods aimed to improving the athletic performance of student-athletes. 
  • Plan and supervise in-season and out-of-season practice sessions, team and individual practices. 
  • Oversee conduct and performance of all women's soccer assistant coaches and support staff. 
  • Oversight of the women's soccer budget. 
  • Monitor the academic performance of student-athletes to assure they meet performance standards of University and NCAA.
  • Participate in promotional and public relations events deemed necessary by Director of Athletics and/or his/her designee. 
  • Generate and promote positive public relations and dynamic support for the Department of Athletics. 
  • Comply with all NCAA, Horizon League, UW System and UW-Green Bay rules and regulations.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree at time of application
  • Either head coaching experience at any NCAA level or full-time assistant coaching experience at the NCAA Division I level
  • 3 years of coaching and recruiting experience at the collegiate level 
  • Knowledge of the NCAA rules and regulations 
  • Ability to pass the NCAA Coaches Certification exam upon hire 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's degree

Conditions Of Appointment

This position requires a varying schedule. Nights and weekends will be required in order to meet the needs of the department. Travel with assigned sport programs will be required.

Position is a full-time Limited appointment.  Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s).  A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s).  In compliance with the Wisconsin Fair Employment Act, the university does not discriminate on the basis of arrest or conviction record.

Salary

Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

BENEFIT DETAILS
The UW System provides an excellent benefits package to meet the diverse needs of its employees. This includes several health insurance options, with annual deductibles as low as $250/individual and $500/family. Our benefits package also includes dental, vision, several life insurance options, AD&D and Accident insurance and Flexible Spending and Health Savings Accounts. We participate in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS), where employer contributions begin immediately and employees are fully vested after 5 years of service. The UW System also provides supplemental retirement savings programs including a 403(b) and Deferred Compensation.

In addition, employees receive several types of paid leave benefits, which are prorated for employees working less than 100%. This includes 9 legal holidays, 36 hours of personal holiday and between 96-130 hours of sick leave annually. Employees earn 13-27 days of vacation each year, depending on years of service and employment type.
