Essential Job Functions

This position reports to the Director of Continuing Professional Education and will be responsible for creating and coordinating credit and non-credit innovative continuing education programs for the University of Wisconsin Green Bay-Manitowoc and Sheboygan Branch Campuses. The Program Specialist will be located at the Manitowoc and Sheboygan campuses and will primarily work in collaboration with the Director to manage all aspects of continuing education and community outreach. Audiences served include community and State organizations, businesses, health and human services professionals, educators, youth, government agencies, administrators, among others.

This position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Analyze instructional and developmental trainings needs, identify potential training opportunities.
  • Serve as a project manager for the coordination and delivery of trainings and programs.
  • Work with University of Wisconsin-Green Bay campus support staff and USI software for registrations, payments, management of contacts and leads, account activity and program tracking.
  • Develop budgets, determine break-even analysis and evaluate return on investment.
  • Provide responsive customer service for incoming phone calls, emails and other inquiries regarding all program logistics.
  • Utilize tools and methods to complete trainings, assess programs and collect data for future programming.
  • Prepare and manage necessary documentation in adherence to University of Wisconsin-Green Bay policies, procedures and appropriate administration requirements.
  • Promote the Division of Continuing Education and Community Engagement and Continuing Professional Education initiatives related to continuing professional education, community engagement, and other outreach opportunities at community coalitions, meetings, forums, summits, conferences and trainings.
  • Assume responsibilities for projects, programming and other duties as assigned by the Director of Continuing Professional Education.
  • Demonstrate commitment to advancing the mission of the University of Wisconsin Green Bay and all branch campuses.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university at time of application
  • Possession of or eligibility to obtain a valid driver's license upon appointment and ability to obtain drivers authorization through the University
  • Three years of experience in programming, planning and event management
  • Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to plan and execute deadline-driven programs and projects with multiple stakeholders with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with faculty, staff, community professionals, businesses, government and other organizations in order to identify, develop and execute the delivery of programs
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency, with the ability to use databases, spreadsheets, word processing, online registrations systems and other software programs
  • Experience in overseeing budgets, documentation, and evaluations


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in higher education
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, education or related field
  • Experience in selling professional services, consulting or training

Conditions of Appointment

This position will be primarily located between the Manitowoc and Sheboygan campuses. Travel is required for meetings, trainings, conferences, and between campuses. This position will require occasional night and/or weekend work.

Position is a full-time 100% Academic Staff appointment. Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s). Salary

Salary range of $43,000 - $48,000
This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
